Potter Class, This Week’s Learning.
16/05/21– Reminders for the Week.
- FOREST SCHOOL TUESDAY 17/05/21. Please send in a change of trousers and socks especially.
- PE- please wear PE kit to school on Monday and Thursday this week.
- Water bottles will stay in class Monday to Friday (we will refresh daily) and be sent home Friday.
- If you send in a snack, please ensure it is either fruit or vegetable.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED):
This week we will be developing our team work and turn taking skills.
Communication and Language (CL):
We will be talking about things we are grateful for and things that make us happy.
Physical Development (PD):
Mr Digby will be teaching P.E. on Thursday this week. We will be carrying out Multi-Skills activities which will develop balance and co-ordination skills.
We will continue with dough disco to exercise our writing muscles.
We will also be building up to completing the daily mile, (we will start with less and build towards a mile!)
In our streamed phonics groups, we will continue to focus on segmenting and blending sounds to read words, and for some children, sentences.
In English this week we will be continuing the book ‘Journey’. We will be writing in the first person as if we were the main character, retelling the events in the story.
Maths (N/ S, S & M):
We will be adding two amounts by counting on.
Knowledge and Understanding of the World (KUTW):
We will be learning about animals that live in the rainforest. We will be considering how animals adapt to this habitat.
Expressive Art and Design (EAAD):
We will be using the instruments to express the movements of animals.
Characteristics of Effective Learning.
Our main aim is to encourage, nurture and lead every individual child’s ‘Sandhurst’ journey through play.
